Peter Gerald Trites (1946-2010) was a political figure and educator in New Brunswick, Canada. He served as a high school teacher for 30 years and later represented Saint John East in the Legislative Assembly from 1984 to 1991, initially as a New Democratic Party member before switching to the Liberal Party. Trites also served on the Saint John City Council from 1992 to 2004 and held the position of Minister of Housing in 1987. He was born in Moncton and was educated at the University of New Brunswick.
