Peter Hugo Julius von Martens was a Finnish-Swedish journalist and writer born on May 13, 1932, in Helsinki. He was the son of Salvation Army officer Arvid Hugo Julius von Martens and Kate Nyman. His brother, Paul von Martens, was also a writer and priest. Peter married model and actress Lena von Martens in 1959, but the marriage ended due to his alcoholism and violence. They lived in various locations, including Tenerife, Paris, and Rome, during the 1960s. He passed away on March 9, 1983, in Karjaa.
