Peter Wells (1912-1995) was an American cartoonist, children's book author, and illustrator. He began his career at Yale University and worked with King Features Syndicate in the 1930s, contributing to various publications. Wells authored and illustrated children's books, winning the New York Tribune Spring Book Award for 'Mr. Tootwhistle's Invention'. He also taught at the Famous Artist School, where his cartoons are now part of the Norman Rockwell Museum collection. A member of the National Cartoonist Society, Wells made significant contributions to the field of cartooning and children's literature.
