Peter Yarrow (born May 31, 1938) is an American singer and songwriter who gained fame as a member of the folk music trio Peter, Paul and Mary. He co-wrote one of the group's greatest songs, 'Puff, the Magic Dragon,' with Leonard Lipton. In addition to his music career, Yarrow is known for his political activism, supporting liberal causes ranging from opposition to the Vietnam War to founding 'Operation Respect,' an organization aimed at promoting tolerance in schools.
