Petko Simeon Nedkov is a renowned Bulgarian speleologist and an honorary member of the Bulgarian Federation of Speleology. Born in 1934, he co-founded the Student Caving Club ‘Akademik’ in Sofia in 1958. He served as the secretary of the Republican Commission for Speleology and Cave Tourism from 1967 to 1974 and later became the deputy chairman of the speleology federation. Notably, he led the first Bulgarian descent into Snowy Cave in the Western Tatras in 1968 and initiated organized cave rescue operations in Bulgaria.
