Playing for clubs like Spartak Sokolovo and Dukla, he earned various medals including a silver in 1961 and five bronzes. Kapoun participated in the 1960/61 European Champions Cup, reaching the quarter-finals. For the national team, he played 21 games from 1965 to 1967. Post-retirement, he served as an administrator and coach at SK Aritma Prague.
