Petr Messiereur is a Czech violinist and music educator born on June 27, 1937. He studied at the Prague Conservatory under renowned teachers. As a student, he gained early recognition by winning the second prize at the 1964 Prague Spring festival and the first prize at the Gaudeamus international competition. He was a member of the Talich Quartet and later formed the Raphael Quartet. Messiereur has also taught at the Prague Conservatory and is known for his recordings, particularly of Mozart's violin sonatas and quartets.
