Petr Štěpánek, born on April 2, 1953, in Bratislava, is a Czech civil engineer and university educator. He served as the rector of the Brno University of Technology from 2014 to 2022. He graduated in 1976 from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at VUT Brno, specializing in construction and transport structures, and later studied mathematical informatics from 1980 to 1986 at UJEP in Brno. He was the dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at VUT Brno from 2003 to 2010 and was re-elected as rector for a second term in 2018.
