Petrică Mâțu Stoian was a Romanian folk music performer and businessman born on September 18, 1960, in Isverna, Mehedinți, Romania. He was known for his work in music, as well as his involvement in beekeeping and managing his own orchard. Mâțu Stoian hailed from the Cloșani area in Mehedinți County. He was employed by the professional artistic ensemble 'Doina Gorjului' from 1995 to 2005 and worked until 2021 with the professional ensemble 'Maria Tănase' in Craiova. He passed away on November 6, 2021, in Reșița, Caraș-Severin.
