Petro Ivanovych Kovalenko (born January 5, 1939, in Palmyra) is a Ukrainian doctor of technical sciences, professor, and academician. He is a member of the Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Sciences, the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and the Italian Agrarian Academy Georgofili. Kovalenko is recognized as a distinguished figure in science and technology and was awarded the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology in 1998.
