Petro Mikhailovych Vanat was a Soviet and Ukrainian political figure, born on January 28, 1938, in Dubno, Poland. He served as the first secretary of the Zaporizhzhia City Committee of the Communist Party from 1985 until 1990. Later, he became a People's Deputy of Ukraine, serving from 2014 until his death on February 8, 2017. He was honored as the honorary citizen of Zaporizhzhia city.
