Petros Ghevondyan (January 30, 1964 – February 14, 1994) was an Armenian militant and commander of the 77th self-defense battalion, associated with the Armenian Revolutionary Federation. He participated in the First Nagorno-Karabakh War and was a prominent figure during the Kelbajar offensive, where he was killed in action. Ghevondyan gained fame for downing an MiG-25 fighter jet using a portable surface-to-air missile system on January 15, 1993. After his death, he became commemorated in Armenia with streets and educational institutions named after him.
