Petter Thoresen, born on March 10, 1966, is a former Norwegian orienteer and five-time world champion. He debuted impressively in 1989, winning both the long distance and relay categories. Thoresen gained further recognition in 1992 with a remarkable performance at the Nordic Championships, winning three golds. He secured his third world title in 1993 and repeated his long-distance triumph in 1997. His fifth gold came in the relay at the 1999 championships. Thoresen was a key member of Halden SK, with multiple victories in the prestigious Jukola and Tiomila relays.
