After serving in the military, where he performed in a band, he moved to New Orleans to study at Loyola University. Over his 77-year career, Darois collaborated with many notable musicians and participated in numerous recording sessions from 1953 to 1997, showcasing his skills on the double bass, tuba, and electric bass.
