Sir Philip George Doyne Adams KCMG was a British diplomat born on December 17, 1915, in Wellington, New Zealand. He was educated at Lancing College and Christ Church, Oxford. Adams began his career in the Levant Consular Service and served as an Intelligence Officer in the Australian Army during World War II. He held various diplomatic positions, including ambassador to Jordan and Egypt, where he played a role during significant conflicts. After retiring from the Diplomatic Service in 1975, he became the Director of the Ditchley Foundation. Adams passed away on October 14, 2001.
