Philip P. Betancourt, born in 1936, is an accomplished American archaeologist and author renowned for his expertise in the Aegean Bronze Age. He served as the Laura H. Carnell Professor of Art History and Archaeology at Temple University and was an adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania. Betancourt has held significant roles, including Director of the Institute for Aegean Prehistory. He earned his Ph.D. in Archaeology from the University of Pennsylvania and was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2007.
