Philip Duncan Wilson Jr. (1920–2016) was an orthopedic surgeon notable for introducing total hip replacement surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in 1967. He began his career at the Hospital in 1948 and held the position of Surgeon-in-Chief from 1972 until 1989. Wilson also served as the President of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons in 1972, contributing significantly to the field of orthopedics during his esteemed career.
