Philip Russell Hardie is a British Latinist and Senior Research Fellow at Trinity College, Cambridge, as well as an Honorary Professor of Latin at the University of Cambridge. He has held significant academic positions, including serving as the Chair of Latin at Corpus Christi College, Oxford from 2002 to 2006. Hardie's research focuses on Latin poetry from the Republican and Imperial periods, particularly Virgil, and he is a prominent advocate for the philological Ovid Renaissance in the 20th century. He examines themes of fame and reputation from Homer to Alexander Pope.
