Philip Holmes, born in 1945, is a professor of aerospace and mechanical engineering at Princeton University. He completed his undergraduate studies in engineering at the University of Oxford from 1964 to 1967 and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Southampton in 1974. Holmes is noted for his significant contributions to nonlinear dynamics and differential equations. Along with John Guckenheimer, he co-authored a seminal book on dynamical systems. Additionally, he has several publications in the field of poetry.
