Philippe Bouyer is a French physicist born on March 7, 1969. He is the director of the Laboratory for Photonics, Numerics and Nano-sciences in Talence, France, and co-founder of Muquans, specializing in quantum technology-based gravity meters. Bouyer is also the deputy director of the Institut d'Optique Graduate School and the Editor in Chief of the AVS Quantum Science journal. His research focuses on ultracold atoms, atom lasers, and matter-wave interferometry to test general relativity and detect gravitational waves. He received the Louis D. award in 2012 and is an APS Fellow.
