Phillip Bonosky was an American novelist, journalist, and labor activist born on March 7, 1916. He is known for his coming-of-age novel Burning Valley. Bonosky was a dedicated Communist and served as a cultural editor and Moscow correspondent for the Daily World. He was among the first U.S. journalists to visit communist China and had the opportunity to interview Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese revolutionary leader, reflecting his significant involvement in labor and political activism.
