Phillip Samuel Forsey was an influential educator and politician in Newfoundland who represented Burin in the House of Assembly from 1949 to 1956. Born in Grand Bank, he taught for 17 years before entering politics, where he supported the confederation with Canada. He served as Minister of Supply and Minister of Health and later moved to Ottawa, continuing his career in education until his death in 1965. He was married to Doris N. Cobb and had six children.
