Phillip S. Myers was an American mechanical engineer, born on May 8, 1916, in Webber, Kansas. He obtained his education from McPherson College and Kansas State College, eventually joining the University of Wisconsin–Madison's faculty. Myers earned multiple degrees including a master's and doctorate in mechanical engineering and became a full professor. He served as president of the Society of Automotive Engineers and received several prestigious awards and honors throughout his career, including being elected to the National Academy of Engineering. He passed away on October 18, 2006.
