Phyllis Margaret Tookey Kerridge (April 1901 – 22 June 1940) was an influential chemist and physiologist notable for her invention of the miniature pH electrode, advancements in artificial respiration, and contributions to audiometry. Educated at UCL, she earned her PhD in 1927. Her work included physiological tests on respirators, developing audiometric standards, and establishing hearing aid clinics. She collaborated with the British Post Office to enhance sound quality in telephony. During World War II, she served in the Emergency Medical Service but tragically passed away at the age of 38.
