Lafayette Parker 'Pick' Temple (1911-1991) was a cowboy folksinger renowned for his children's television show, The Pick Temple Giant Ranch, which aired from 1948 to 1961. The show combined guitar music, puppet shows, and audience participation, becoming a staple of the Washington, D.C. area. Temple also appeared on The Rifleman and contributed recordings to the Library of Congress. Following his television career, he returned to government service before retiring to Sun City, Arizona. He passed away in 1991, survived by his children and grandchildren.
