Pierre de Morsier, born on January 5, 1908, in Geneva and died September 18, 1991, in Perroy, Switzerland, was a Franco-Swiss officer noted for his role as a French Navy officer and a Companion of the Liberation. During World War II, he served in the Free French Naval Forces, commanding a corvette that safeguarded Atlantic convoys and sank a submarine. He later commanded the 1st Marine Infantry Regiment during the Italian campaign and in France from the Provence landings to the battles in Alsace. He opposed the war in Indochina and authored a book on Free French corvettes.
