Pierre Kröger was a German painter and graphic artist born on September 23, 1938, in Darmstadt. He experienced the war years in Darmstadt and later fled to Erfurt with his family after the city's destruction in 1944. After completing an apprenticeship as a locksmith, he studied graphics at the Werkkunstschule Darmstadt, graduating with distinction. A member of the Darmstädter Sezession since 1968, Kröger traveled extensively, producing numerous works that became part of significant collections. He received the Darmstadt Art Prize in 1981 and the International Senefelder Prize for lithography in 1984.
