Pierre Versins, originally named Jacques Chamson, was a notable French Science Fiction collector and scholar born on January 12, 1923, in Strasbourg. He published a critical fanzine called Ailleurs from 1957 to 1962, and wrote four science fiction novels between 1951 and 1971. His significant contributions include the Encyclopedie de Utopie et de la sf, which earned him the Torcon II special award in 1973, and the Pilgrim Award in 1991. Additionally, he founded the Maison d'Ailleurs in Switzerland, a museum dedicated to science fiction and utopia.
