Pieter Johannes Schroevers (1930-2016) was a Dutch hydrobiologist known for his environmental advocacy. He was active in the Aktie Strohalm initiative, which highlighted the relationship between environmental issues and economic growth. From 1978 to 1985, he served on the editorial board of the Ekologie: Strohalm journal focusing on society and the environment. Schroevers co-founded the Aarde foundation and contributed to various ecological research communities, as well as publications on water biology, notably editing the 1982 book 'Landschaptaal.'
