Pieter van der Zaag, born on November 12, 1940, in Gryptsjerk, is a Dutch politician affiliated with the CDA. He served as mayor of the former municipality of Midwolda from 1975 to 1983 and had a short tenure as acting mayor of Bad Nijeskâns during 1980-1981. Later, he was the first mayor of Nijkerk from 1983 to 1989 and of Smellingerlân from 1989 to 2005. He also held acting mayor roles in Arcen en Velden (2006) and Haren (2007), and served temporarily in Winsum in 2010.
