Dom Policarpo da Costa Vaz (1908-1984) was a Catholic priest and auxiliary bishop in Porto from 1950 to 1954, bishop of Macau from 1954 to 1960, and bishop of Guarda from 1960 until his resignation in 1979. He was born in Barreiros, Viseu, and was educated at the Diocesan Seminary of Viseu and later in Rome. He was known for his contributions to the formation of students and improvements in ecclesiastical establishments. He was also a pivotal figure within the clergy, serving in various roles until his death in February 1984.
