Ivan Kondratievich Ponomarenko was a Ukrainian politician born on May 1, 1940, in Kharkiv Oblast. He served as the head of the Avtozavodskyi District of Kremenchuk from 1977 to 1990 and later as the chairman of the city executive committee from 1990 to 1994 and again from 1995 to 1997. Ponomarenko was also the mayor of Kremenchuk from 1997 to 1998. He passed away on October 21, 1999, in Kremenchuk, leaving behind a legacy in local governance.
