Dr. Porter Prescott Lowry (born 1956) is an American botanist, explorer, and professor. He earned his B.S. in 1978 and M.S. in 1982 from the University of Illinois, followed by a Ph.D. in 1986 from the University of Washington. He serves as an Associate Professor in the Biology Department at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Additionally, he works part-time as an Associate Researcher at the National Museum of Natural History in Paris and as an Honorary Associate Researcher at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, specializing in the taxonomy of the Araliaceae family, with a focus on the flora of Madagascar and New Caledonia.
