Portia Simpson-Miller is a Jamaican politician born on December 12, 1945. She is a member of the People's National Party and served as Prime Minister of Jamaica twice, first from 2006 to 2007 and then from 2012 to 2016. She is notable for being the first woman to hold the position of Prime Minister in Jamaica. Following her tenure, she was succeeded by the current Prime Minister, Andrew Holness.
