Pema Khandu Thungon is an Indian politician born on June 5, 1946, recognized as the first chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh after its transition to a union territory in 1972. He was also the first to lead following the state's first assembly elections in 1978, and as of 2023, he is the youngest chief minister. Throughout his career, Khandu held various ministerial roles, including Deputy Minister for Supply and Rehabilitation, Deputy Minister in Education and Culture, and Minister of State in Commerce and Industry under the leadership of prominent Indian prime ministers.
