With hits like 'Sincerely' and 'The Ten Commandments of Love', he contributed to the doo-wop genre's popularity. He was inducted into multiple music halls of fame and was a recipient of the Rhythm and Blues Foundation Pioneer Award. Barnes tragically died in a car accident in 2006.
