Preston Riley (born October 30, 1947) is a former American football wide receiver known for playing with the San Francisco 49ers and the New Orleans Saints during the early 1970s. He gained notoriety for a critical mistake in the 1972 playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys, where he fumbled an onside kick. This pivotal moment allowed the Cowboys to make a comeback and ultimately prevented the 49ers from reaching their first Super Bowl.
