Rear Admiral Iskinder Desta was an Ethiopian naval officer and member of the Imperial family, born on 6 August 1934. He was a grandson of Emperor Haile Selassie I and held the position of Deputy Commander of the Imperial Ethiopian Navy from 1958 until his execution by the Derg in 1974. He is remembered for his service and as a significant figure in Ethiopia's naval history during a tumultuous period.
