Princess India of Afghanistan was the youngest daughter of former Afghan king Amanullah Khan and Queen Soraya Tarzi. Born in 1929 in Bombay, she later settled in Rome. Educated in Switzerland and Italy, she became active in charity work, especially in Afghanistan. She founded the Mahmúd Tarzí Cultural Foundation and served as an ambassador for Afghan culture in Europe. Princess India participated in significant events such as the centennial celebrations of Afghanistan's independence in 2019 and maintained her influence until the Taliban's resurgence in 2021.
