Prokofy Korniyenko (1911-1972) was a Soviet soldier and a Hero of the Soviet Union awarded in 1943. He served as a reconnaissance soldier in the 347th Rifle Regiment of the 303rd Rifle Division during World War II, participating in battles to liberate Ukraine and Moldova. He showed exceptional bravery on September 27, 1943, near Chervonoe village while crossing the Dnieper River, destroying two machine gun points and a significant number of enemy troops, thus aiding the main forces' advance. After the war, he lived in Tokarevka and was a deputy chairman of the Telman village committee.
