Proverb Gabriel Jacobs, Jr. was an American football player born on May 25, 1935, and passed away on April 18, 2016. He played both offensive and defensive lineman in the NFL for teams including the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants, and in the AFL for the New York Titans and Oakland Raiders. Jacobs attended Modesto Junior College and the University of California for college football. He was drafted in the 1958 NFL draft and later self-published his memoir in 2014.
