Puliyur Krishnaswamy Duraiswami (1912–1974) was a prominent Indian orthopedic surgeon and medical writer who served as the Director General of Health Services in India. He was a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a founder Fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences. Duraiswami made significant contributions to orthopedics through numerous publications. His work earned him the prestigious Padma Bhushan award in 1966, recognizing his valuable impact on medical science, along with the Robert Jones Medal and the Presidential Merit Award from the British Orthopaedic Association.
