Pyarimohan Mohapatra (1940-2017) was a prominent Indian politician from Odisha, serving in the Rajya Sabha as a member of the Odisha Jana Morcha. He began his career as an IAS officer and was an influential political advisor to Naveen Patnaik, often recognized as the mastermind behind the Biju Janata Dal. Following a controversial suspension for an alleged coup attempt in 2012, he formed his rebellion party, OJM, and contested the 2014 state elections. After a prolonged illness, he passed away on March 19, 2017, earning the title 'Chanakya of Odisha politics.'
