Kaspar (Gaspard) was an Asian elephant born on December 9, 1907, in Copenhagen and died on March 1, 1927, in Paris. He was the first elephant calf born in Denmark and the fourth in Europe. After being part of Circus Bech-Olsen, he was sold to Zoo Hannover and later transferred to Jardin d'Acclimatation in Paris, where he was euthanized following aggressive behavior that resulted in the death of a zookeeper. He lived to be 20 years old. His parents were elephants Chang and Ellen.
