Yair Shapira (born June 12, 1940) is a researcher in environmental medicine, exercise physiology, and heat exposure. He is a full professor and former dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ariel University in Samaria, where he also heads the master's program in Health Systems Management and Policy. Shapira served as the director of Soroka University Medical Center (1983-1987), director of Beilinson Medical Center (1987-1988), medical director and deputy CEO of Clalit Health Services, and CEO of Assuta for 15 years. His research fields include exercise physiology, environmental physiology, and health system management.
