Baghdasar Tovik was an Armenian writer born on April 2, 1901, in Hindistan village, Van province, Turkey. He studied at the Varagavank School and graduated from Yerevan State University in 1932. Tovik is known for his novels, including "Before Dawn" in 1979, dedicated to the heroic battles of Van, and "Holy Revenge" in 1986, depicting the pre-genocide life of Western Armenians. He passed away on April 21, 1994, in Yerevan, Armenia.
