Markiyan Kogut (born Matey; pseudonyms Danilo Palomnyk, M. Zoryan, M. Soniashnyk) was a Ukrainian church figure, priest of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), Basilian, writer, poet, and translator. He was born on April 12, 1908, in Laskivtsi and passed away on January 8, 1998, in Chervonograd. Kogut made significant contributions to religious and literary life in Ukraine.
