Igumen Arseny, born Andrey Pavlovich Sokolov on January 25, 1968, in Sharya, is a priest of the Russian Orthodox Church, a biblical scholar, and a translator. He earned a Doctor of Theology degree in 2012 and is a professor at the Department of Biblical Studies of the Holy Apostles Cyril and Methodius Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies Institute. He is also a member of the Synodal Biblical-Theological Commission.
