Olexandr Ivanovych Smiian (born October 31, 1957, in Truskavets, Lviv region) is a Ukrainian scientist and educator. He became a Doctor of Medical Sciences in 1996 and a professor in 1997. He serves as the head of the Pediatric Association in the Sumy region, and the head of the Pediatrics Department at the Medical Institute of Sumy State University since 1999. Additionally, he is the editor-in-chief of the SumDU journal 'Eastern Ukrainian Medical Journal' and was awarded the title of Honored Doctor of Ukraine in 2018.
