Hennadiy Shklyar was a Ukrainian writer born on December 1, 1946, in Taurage, Lithuania. He was a member of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine and recognized for his literary contributions. He received several awards, including the NSPU competition prize, the International Fund of Yevhen Bachynsky's award 'In the Mirror of the Word' in the USA, and the Lesya Ukrainka Award from the regional branch of the Ukrainian Cultural Fund in literature. He passed away on June 9, 2011.
